Turnip and Potato Soup
Creamy and savory, this is a great soup for incorporating turnips (and bacon!) into your diet!
Remove from heat, drain the majority of the rendered bacon drippings, reserving about 1 tablespoon in the skillet, and continue cooking the bacon in the large saucepan over medium heat for about 4 minutes, or until the fat starts to render.
Bring the bacon, reserved drippings, and onion back to medium heat.
Cook and stir the mixture until the onion is translucent, about 4 more minutes.
Cook and stir the potato and turnip pieces in the bacon mixture for about two minutes, or until they are just warmed through.
