Classic Candied Sweet Potatoes
A sweet potato with brown sugar recipe that is simple but seriously delicious. Makes a perfect side dish for the holiday table or potluck meal.

Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).

2 inches of water should be brought to a boil in a large pot with a steamer basket inside.

Whole sweet potatoes should be placed in the steamer basket, covered.

Cook for about 30 minutes, or until tender.

Cool and drain.

Sweet potatoes should be peeled and cut into 1/2-inch slices lengthwise.

A 9×13-inch baking dish should be used.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the brown sugar, butter, water, and salt.

Pour the sauce over the potatoes once it has bubbled and the sugar has dissolved.

For one hour, bake the potatoes in the preheated oven, occasionally baste them with the brown sugar sauce.
