Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce
Sauteed garlic, cream cheese, fresh parsley, and a dash of basil are mixed with cooked shrimp and thinly sliced fresh mushrooms. Serve as a sophisticated starter or main course after tossing with hot linguini.
Large pot of lightly salted water should be brought to a boil.
Cook the linguine for 7 minutes or until it is tender.
Drain.
Meanwhile, in a big skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
Add the mushrooms and stir-fry them until they are tender.
Place on a plate.
Melt half a cup of butter and the minced garlic in the same pan.
As the cream cheese melts, stir it in, breaking it up with a spoon.
Add the basil and parsley after that.
5 minutes of simmering.
Add boiling water and stir until the sauce is smooth.
Add cooked shrimp and mushrooms and fully reheat sauce.
Serve the linguini with the shrimp sauce.
